Bishop David C. Cooper
Bishop David C. Cooper has served as the senior pastor of
New Hope Full Gospel Baptist Church of Albuquerque, NM since
April 1992. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, Bishop
Cooper has successfully transitioned the church spiritually
into a
Word centered, high praise and worship church. Bishop Cooper
has edified existing ministries of the church while adding
more than twenty new ministries, which reach the total needs
of man. These areas include but are not limited to
evangelism, homeless outreach, family counseling, singles
and marriage ministries and a myriad of other ministries for
all ages.
Bishop Cooper’s ministry approach reflects a spirit of
excellence. His goal is to make New Hope Church one of the
most progressive ministries in the southwester region and to
make Albuquerque a spiritual oasis in the desert. This
mission is accomplished through the numerous teachings,
workshops, and conferences offered through the church,
Bishop Cooper’s national revivals, and his national and
international teachings on evangelism and church
growth. This spirit of excellence is also reflected in his
first gospel music release “Shakin’ With Praise”.
Bishop Cooper is an ardent supporter of the Full Gospel
Baptist Church Fellowship under which he currently serves as
the Southwest Regional Bishop for New Mexico, Colorado,
Oklahoma, Texas, Montana and Idaho. Bishop Cooper is an
experienced pastor and leader. He began preaching at the age
of sixteen and pastored his first church in Chicago at the
age of twenty-one. His academic pursuits include studies at
DePaul University, Monmouth College, and Trinity Theological
Seminary. Although he has achieved many great
accomplishments in his life, two of his greatest
accomplishments include his role as husband and father. He
is husband to Minister Nina Mock Cooper, and is father to
two beloved sons, David C. Cooper II and Andrew F. Cooper.
